Hi Wine Watchers! Happy Friday!
Starting today, every week London Wine Watch will bring you great recommendations for somewhere to go out and enjoy wine at the weekend as well as some ideas to enjoy at home for if you’re staying in. Here are this weeks top tips!
Wine Watch: Going Out
This week’s Wine Watch favourite is 10 Cases – a block or so behind Covent Garden station on Endell Street. Its name hints at what makes it such a unique wine bar – they only ever buy 10 cases of the same wine. It means their wine list is constantly changing allowing you to try different things – but of course the downside to this is if you find an exceptional wine, you might not be able to get it again. It’s relatively small so it does get busy but it’s a fabulous place if there’s just 2 of you or a small group. There is also a restaurant with 10 (spotting a theme?) tables so booking is highly recommended at the weekends. Enjoy!
Wine Watch: Staying In
This week’s grape juice of choice is a great value Argentinian Malbec by Santa Julia. This is great for curling up on the sofa with on its own or with a simple autumnal dinner such as a cottage pie or a stew. It’s fresh and light for a Malbec and I would highly recommend for the cost – which is a bargain at just £7.99. Available in Waitrose or Sainsbury’s it’s worth picking up on route home from the office this evening if you’re pinched for pennies! And….relax!
